Akonolinga-Carrefour Yil Road construction: Akonolinga-Endom-obout Regional Road Paved over 23,2km

The project makes up phase I of the pavement of Rural Road RO113, Akonolinga-Endom Obout section over a distance of 86,7 km, in the Nyong-et-Mfoumou Division, Centre Region. It concerned the pavement of a section running from Akonolinga (D.O.’s Office) to CarrefourYil Over a total distance of 25,8km.

The pavement of this 24,8 km longsection has been completed since November 2024. The infrastructurr that been constructed already enables people and users to move about on an upgraded road. This road section has been construstruted in an area of high agricultural potentiel, where local people make a living out of agriculture, the fruits of which they transport to consumption centres.

From Akonolinga to Obout, via Endom, a number of farmers produce cocoa, coffee and food crops which are sold in the markets of the town of Yaounde and above all, transported to neighbouring countries in the sub-region. Pavement of the Akonolinga-Endom-Obout regional road, that has been commenced, will thus boost the economic potentiel of the Nyong-et-Mfoumou Division by providing good connectivity with National Road N⁰ 10 in the Centre Region.

A number of socio-economic infrastructures has also been built for the benefit of local communities including six classroom and six boreholes. The projet is financed by the MINTP Public investment Budget and its completion will make it possible to envisage pursuing these pavement works as for as Endom, in the Nyong-et-Mfoumou Division.
